I started my artistic career later in life after working 30 +years as an Accounting Professional. Before retiring I attended the Mt. View School of Music and Arts for 3 years. Since then I have continued my education with workshops and tutorial sessions. It's been a journey of discovery to release the artistic me and find the styles that make me happiest.
I've worked in a range of media: graphite, charcoals, oils, pastels, and colored pencils. I enjoy the variety of art that can be produced by each one and am still on a journey of discovery, enjoying testing new styles. Colored pencils are my preferred medium but lately have been experimenting with watercolor colored pencils and pastels. .
I love creating detailed drawings of wildlife and pet portraits. My own cats provide me with an abundance of inspiration and participate as my models. I love capturing those soulful expressions and textures in animals.
Animals of all sorts hold a special place in my heart. Here I used a combination of pastels and colored pencil to capture this lovely little frog.
In addition to animals I also enjoy creating drawings of nature and still life objects. Shown here are roses that were given to me for my birthday. They were such an unusual color and the bouquet was so beautiful, I felt I had to capture them in a drawing.
Every drawing to me is personal and truly reflects the passion that I feel for my art and this medium. Attention to detail is part of all my works which reflect the true essence of each drawing. All my drawings are created on acid free paper with lightfast pencils.
AColored pencil works are for sale and I do take commissions. Commission pricing varies based on size and detail of work. If you are interested please contact me for details.

Each work I create is a detailed study of the subject. The process involves a hand drawn sketch which is then transferred to the selected paper. For pet portraits each color is considered carefully to match the subject before the actual drawing ever begins. I've attached a work in process of my newest drawing. I'm so excited to be working on one of my favorite models.
